The Adelaide and Country SA PHNs have jointly implemented the SA PHN Immunisation Hub, a multi-faceted approach to bridge gaps in immunisation service provision, support the skill base of immunisation providers, ensure reporting to the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) is performed accurately, improve accessibility to after-hours immunisation services and increase vaccine uptake through promoting the need for a well immunised community. The Hub will provide education, mentoring and networking for service providers, engagement, advocacy and resources for the community, and will facilitate nurse led clinics.
The Immunisation Hub staff are available to assist immunisation providers with:
- changes to the immunisation schedule
- keeping up to date with new vaccines
- cold chain/vaccine management
- accurate reporting to AIR and accessing AIR practice reports
- other immunisation queries
We regularly distribute important immunisation updates and changes in the vaccination schedule to health professionals. Please contact us to subscribe to our mailing list.
The SA PHN Immunisation Hub also arranges education sessions on all aspects of immunisation for immunisation providers on a regular basis. If you would like to be notified about educational opportunities, please make sure your details are registered with us.
Providers, including GPs, nurses, Aboriginal Health Care workers and Pharmacists new to immunisation program delivery, can contact the SA PHN Immunisation Hub Coordinator – Angela Newbound on 0421 168 367 for any support required or visit the Immunisation Hub website here.
